Every Activity needs creative assets. This includes the stim, which could be a static image or video (see the stim options in the highlighted box below) and main brand and competitor brand logos.
The main brand and competitor brand logos are used as part of the implicit testing. For more information on this, click here.
To add your creative assets, click on the ‘Go to creative assets’ link in the Creative Assets section.
Add a creative asset
Once in the creative assets dashboard, you can add new assets. Click on ‘Add content’.
Give your asset a name
Give your asset a name that clearly describes what it is. If it’s the main brand logo, then name it exactly that. This will help to ensure there’s no confusion at any stage of the Activity setup.
Pick the asset type
You can choose from three asset types. Main brand (logo), Competitor brand (logo) and Video*. You can only choose one asset type for each file and it’s essential that you have a total of three files. Your Activity won’t launch if you only have two or less assets uploaded.
*See the tip box below.
To upload a static image you need to convert the image into an mp4 video file. Make sure that you set the duration long enough for the participants to view the stimulus. We recommend a minimum of 2 seconds but no longer than 10 seconds for a static image asset.
Upload the asset file
Click on ‘Upload’ and choose a file from your local (computer) storage. For more information on the asset types, file sizes and file types you can upload, see the tip box below.
Static image
File format: mp4 video (see the preview tip box above)
Currently, images must be converted into videos. We recommend a minimum of 2 seconds but no longer than 10 seconds for a static image asset.
Video
We recommend these minimum settings for videos to better guarantee compatibility and optimised resource usage:
-
File format: MP4
-
Video encoding: H264
-
Resolution: 640x480 pixels OR 640x360 pixels (depending on the aspect ratio)
-
Frame rate: 25 FPS
-
Bitrate (minimum): 500Kbps
-
Format layout: Fast Start (moov atom at the front of the file)
In general, lowering the bandwidth as much as possible (vs quality and screen size) is recommended as it can have a noticeable impact on the panel's error rate. We also recommend you upload videos with a file size as small as possible (max 20mb) but not too small to avoid impacting the visual quality too much.
